Supporting neurodivergent children shouldn’t feel overwhelming, complicated, or lonely, but for many families, that’s exactly what it becomes.

Kind of Extraordinary exists to change that.

This is a space for parents, carers, and professionals who want clarity, confidence, and compassion-led support rooted in lived experience and neurodiversity-affirming practice.

The services listed here are the main ways I support parents and families right now. However, I also offer bespoke professional development and consultancy for schools and organisations wanting to better understand and support neurodivergent children and young people, neurodivergent employees, and to develop more neuro-affirming language and inclusive, strengths-based practice within their settings. If this is something you’re exploring, I’d love to hear from you, please get in touch to start a conversation.

Kind Words from Clients

“I would not hesitate to recommend Emma’s services.

I have spoken to Emma several times regarding various issues involving my two daughters, who are Gifted/AuDHD and Gifted/dyslexic, alongside their own unique mix of personalities and characteristics. Despite never having met either of my children, Emma has an incredible ability not just to listen, but to truly hear through the emotion and untangle the web of issues beneath it. I come off the call feeling as though she really knows my child, and armed with a wealth of factual information that genuinely helps and guides.

More than that though — and possibly even more important than all of the information Emma can give — is the understanding and confidence she instils in you as a parent. I think many parents of gifted children find themselves butting up against systems that simply aren’t designed with our children in mind and, certainly at the beginning of the journey for me, I was filled with self-doubt: Am I being a pushy parent? Is my child really…? After a conversation with Emma, I come off the call brimming with confidence to pick up the mantle and advocate for my child again.

I would not hesitate to recommend Emma’s services and, whilst I hope I won’t need them in the future, I suspect I probably will and if I do, I won’t hesitate to book another appointment.”

Who I Work With

You might be a parent or carer of a neurodivergent or twice-exceptional (2e) child, diagnosed or not, who feels like you're constantly trying to translate your child’s world for others. Maybe you’re beginning to recognise your own neurodivergence and everything suddenly makes more sense… and less sense… all at the same time.

You want the best for your child (of course you do), but you’re:

  • Unsure how to interpret big feelings, hard days, or “behaviours” in a way that aligns with your values

  • Feeling defeated or dismissed by school systems and professionals

  • Lost in paperwork, EHCP processes, or meetings where you’re expected to “stay calm” while advocating fiercely

  • Carrying guilt - for shouting, for not knowing, for feeling overwhelmed, for all of it

  • Wishing someone would just explain what’s happening and tell you what will actually help

  • Wondering whether you’re doing enough (you are)

You're seeking clarity, direction, reassurance, and strategies that honour your child - not fix them.

You want support that sees your child as a person, not a problem.

That’s exactly what I offer.
